I’m a late bloomer in writing for children. Unlike many writers, I never

planned or wanted to be a writer. I did love to read, mainly in my second language,

English. l fell in love with David Copperfield, Little Women, Jane Eyre and Gone with

the Wind in my teens.

Why does a senior citizen want to write for children? The answer is that I have

grandchildren who inspire me to write. How they talk and how they think give me

material to write believable characters. My books entertain and inform. I can’t think

of a better second career after retirement.

Yes, that’s true. But there’s an urgency, since my goal is to be a published book author and time is short.
